Supply Planning Manager

Mississauga - Financial Dr., ON

 The Opportunity:

We are searching for a Supply Planning Manager to join our Supply Chain team located in Mississauga, Ontario, the successful candidate will work directly with key cross-functional leaders across Maple Leaf Foods to map out short- and long-term production plans for our manufacturing facilities located across Canada and the US.

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:

  • Provide leadership to a team of 3 to 5 with overall responsibility to develop short and long-term inventory plans to drive highest possible service levels to our customers at the lowest possible cost (e.g. minimizing excess inventory)
  • Effectively deal with long / short inventory situations, including identification of root cause and recommended actions, and communication with stakeholders
  • Identify and implement short- and long-term strategies to reduce overall cost of service
  • Manage short term and long-term manufacturing capacity
  • Align inventory strategies to profitability of business, seek cost and complexity reduction through rationalization
  • New product development - act as voice of Supply Chain on cross functional launch teams and ensure proper plans are created to support the launch
  • Set targets and report Supply Chain KPI’s to manage the business
  • Actively participate in cross functional Sales & Operations Planning to provide solutions and enable growth
  • Achieve timelines and support project resource requirements
  • Actively benchmark best practices on tools, technology and processes to improve service levels, minimize risk, or reduce cost
  • Actively lead your team through change (new tools, technology, process)

What You’ll Bring:

  • 5-7 years in a Supply Planning role or similarly related experience within Supply Chain in a CPG environment
  • 3+ years of people leadership experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Finance or a related field and/or professional designation in Supply Chain
  • Knowledge of and experience with SAP-APO; experience with SAP-IBP is an advantage
  • Strong problem solving as well as strategic thinking skills
  • Ability to benchmark best practices and drive a culture of continuous improvement
  • Demonstrated proficiency in statistics, planning and inventory management methods with an understanding of their financial and operational impacts.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are also essential to effectively interact with all teams, areas and levels of business affecting the supply planning process.
  • Exceptional change management skills in terms of adopting and leveraging tools and technology
  • Proven ability to successfully operate in a fast paced, demanding environment
  • Proven ability to develop and build high performing teams and strong cross-functional stakeholder relationships
