The Opportunity

We are looking for an IT Security Analyst to join our Infrastructure & Information Security team in Mississauga in a permanent role, reporting to the Manager of Infrastructure Security.

You are an infrastructure security professional with analytic capabilities as well as an ordered and structured approach to problem solving. You are pragmatic and ensure that we enable business to continue. Where theoretical knowledge helps you, it is backed up by practical skills learned. You understand and have experience in many technology areas covering IT environment.

A snapshot of some of the exciting things you will lead and do:

  • Identify security issues and risks and develop mitigation plans. 
  • Assist in the responsibility for the reviewing vulnerabilities' data from multiple sources. 
  • Assist in improving and automating existing vulnerability management lifecycle. Including but not limited, data ingestion & normalization, compliance metrics and detections on assets. 
  • Assist in working with the Business to effectively communicate the risks of identified vulnerabilities and make recommendations regarding the selection of cost-effective security controls to mitigate identified risks. 
  • Assist in interfacing with third-party vendors and other Conduent organizations in improving the overall scanning process. 
  • Implement, support, and evaluate security-focused tools and services. 
  • Participate in security compliance efforts. 
  • Develop and deliver training materials and perform general security awareness and specific security technology training. 
  • Execute IT security operations processes & procedures, and support IT technical teams. 
  • Provide technical expertise in supporting investigations and compliance requirements. 
  • Provide support and practical security advice to MLF employees.

What you will bring:

  • Post-secondary education or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related field. 
  • 1-3 years of relative experience including hands on operational enterprise experience. 
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders 
  • Understanding of network protocols. 
  • Understanding of cloud platform security. 
  • Understanding of Windows and Unix/Linux operating systems and command line tools. 
  • Understanding of network-based services and client/server applications. 
  • Understanding of network architecture and security infrastructure. 
  • Understanding of typical security threats, vulnerabilities and safeguards relevant to application development, test and QA environments, and IT operations. 
  • On Call 24/7 
  • Ability to pass and maintain in-depth background checks required.
