Manager, Leadership Development

 The Opportunity:

As the Manager of Leadership Development, you'll play a key role in designing, implementing, and managing programs that enhance leadership capabilities across our organization. Reporting to the Director of Talent Development & DEI, you will collaborate with senior leaders and HR teams to create and deliver strategies that cultivate high-performing leaders aligned with our Maple Leaf Leadership Values.

In this role, you'll oversee the development of leadership pathways, succession planning strategies, and training programs that support leaders at all levels. Your innovative approach and deep understanding of leadership principles will help us build a strong pipeline of internal leaders.

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:

  • Strategic Vision: Develop and execute a strategic vision for leadership development that aligns with our culture and leadership expectations across all levels, including emerging leaders, mid-level, and executives.
  • Program Design & Implementation: Create and manage dynamic leadership development programs and initiatives to identify, nurture, and support high-potential leaders. Implement programs to build a robust and diverse leadership pipeline.
  • Program Management: Lead and support the management of coaching, mentoring, and sponsorship programs.
  • Collaboration: Partner with subject matter experts, vendors, and cross-functional teams to build, deliver, and optimize leadership development solutions.
  • Facilitation: Design and deliver engaging, impactful in-person and virtual experiences for leaders and teams.
  • Performance Metrics: Develop and execute measurement strategies to assess the effectiveness of leadership programs, using feedback and data to drive continuous improvement.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate and liaise effectively with key stakeholders, developing communication plans and change management strategies. Support the management of the Leadership Capabilities framework across Maple Leaf.
  • Innovation: Stay current on leadership trends and best practices, integrating emerging learning technologies to enhance program delivery.
  • Project Management: Manage project plans, timelines, and resources to ensure successful program execution.
  • Blueprint Alignment: Ensure leadership development initiatives align with our Leadership Values outlined in the Maple Leaf Blueprint. Collaborate with senior leadership to embed leadership development into performance management.
  • Leadership Capabilities Integration: Embed our Leadership Capabilities —Strategic Thinking, Agility and Change Leadership, Growth Mindset, Executional Excellence, and Emotional Intelligence—into all leadership development programs.
  • Leadership Pathways: Develop clear leadership pathways and succession planning strategies to ensure a strong pipeline of future leaders. Track leadership growth and succession readiness, creating a pathway for internal and diverse talent into key roles.
  • Participant Engagement: Foster a culture of continuous learning and development, encouraging leaders to engage with and benefit from leadership programs. Promote knowledge sharing and collaboration through formal and informal learning networks.
