The Opportunity:
Oversees the procurement of Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) supplies and services, ensuring efficient and cost-effective sourcing, inventory management, and supplier relationships

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:
- Execution of MRO planning and management best practices in day-to-day operations
- Manage purchasing of maintenance-related spare parts inventory, consumables and services
- Manage sourcing and development of alternative suppliers and set up new vendors in the MLF systems.
- Develop and implement MRO procurement strategies to optimize costs, quality, and delivery times.
- To implement preferred or mandatory supply arrangements dictated by corporate purchasing
- Identifies, evaluates, and manages relationships with MRO suppliers, negotiating contracts and ensuring compliance.
- Monitors and manages MRO inventory levels, ensuring sufficient stock to meet operational needs while minimizing holding costs.
- Oversees the entire MRO procurement process, from requisition to payment, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Manage new part creation and extension requests
- Conducts cost analysis to identify opportunities for cost reduction and improvement in MRO spending.
- Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and operations teams to accurately forecast MRO needs based on equipment usage, maintenance schedules, and operational demands. Analyze spending patterns, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement strategies to reduce MRO expenses while maintaining quality standards.
- Analyzes MRO spending data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
- Responsible for analyzing and reporting MRO metrics to plant and corporate leadership as required
- Oversee the development of plant-specific standard operating procedures (SOPs) for MRO purchasing policies and procedures to ensure compliance and consistency.
- May lead or supervise a team of MRO buyers and MRO Coordinators
- Manage, coach, and mentor storekeepers, purchasers, receivers, coordinators
- Provide oversight, guidance, training, and support to staff
- Works with various departments, including sanitation and operations, to understand their needs and ensure effective procurement.
- Shall demonstrate full commitment to the implementation of the requirements of the Global Standard for Food Safety and processes that facilitate continual improvement of food safety and quality management
What You’ll Bring:
- 3 – 5 years’ experience in an MRO purchasing, MRO inventory, or maintenance management role in a
- manufacturing facility. Food manufacturing an asset
- College Diploma in purchasing/inventory management
- Certification in supply chain or procurement management
- Strong and effective negotiation skills
- Strong and effective personnel management skills (work assignment, coaching, mentoring, etc.)
- Ability to delegate, collaborate, and resolve conflict
- Strong team building and motivating skills
- Ability to develop team competencies
- Strong knowledge of MRO parts and warehouse management
- Experienced in ERP/MRP systems. Strong SAP knowledge an asset
- Able to quickly learn new software and new processes
- Excellent professional written and verbal communication skills, an ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment,
- with strong attention to detail are required skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Good understanding of food processing and regulatory requirements is an asset
- Proven analytical and critical thinking skills
