Customer Supply Chain Manager - Poultry

 The Opportunity:

The Manager, Poultry Customer Supply Chain and Fulfillment is responsible for the leadership of a team of Customer Supply Chain (CSC) representatives as well as owning the Poultry executional supply chain relationship with key customers and Sales customer business teams (CBT). This role will be aligned to all Poultry CBT account leads.  The individual will be responsible for coaching the Poultry CSC team on best order management practices and working with them to both report and define corrective action regarding both fill rate and on time delivery.    Finally, they will work with both internal cross functional teams and the customer to determine cost savings and process optimization opportunities. 

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:

  • Key contact for Poultry leadership for all day-to-day order management activities, logistics and inventory flow challenges with staff and account(s).
  • Manage a team of Customer Supply Chain Representatives and create a culture of continuous improvement. 
  • Work collaboratively with the Poultry supply chain leadership on the integrated process of fulfilling demand and optimizing the use of all finished goods to maximize customer fill rate. 
  • Act as the Poultry order management process expert within MLF by working with the cross functional teams in defining systems and processes that will optimize the team’s performance. 
  • Ensure that all processes aligned to MLF’s Order Policy, including Efficient Replenishment Policy elements such as truckload building, minimum order quantity, unitization & delivery management
  • Accountable for identifying and leading cost and service improvements for both MLF and the customers supply chain through enhancement of both technical and operational processes
  • Provide insight into any major order to forecast variances in the consensus process by collaborating with Demand Planning, Sales and the customer business teams.
  • Work with Sales and Fulfillment teams to consistency with customer support across MLF’s various protein categories.
  • Provide CSCR team support to ensure they are leading planning, customer communication and facilitate new launch or rationalization plans.
  • Recruiting, hiring, training, and providing ongoing development leadership and coaching to a team of professionals.
  • Aligning with MLF Values, focused on delivering results and leading within the overall Customer Supply Chain team.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • SPOC for all Poultry related process or elevation discussions.
  • Ensure outbound customer fill rate targets are achieved while maximizing inventory use.
  • Meet or excess cost targets associated with distressed sales while exceeding all related KPI’s
  • Ensure that the teams customer profiles and specific SOP’s are fully up to date
  • Maintain specific department or customer objectives for the assigned account
  • Responsible for the customer relationship for assigned key account(s).
  • Communicate major supply outages to the customer

What You’ll Bring:

  • Post-secondary education
  • 3-5 years of demand forecasting, order management, and inventory management experience
  • 1-3 years of prior people management experience
  • Poultry industry and process knowledge is an asset
  • Previous experience negotiating and collaborating with the manager and director level at the customer
  • Strong analytical skills driving solution-based actions
  • Outstanding influential leadership skills.  Ability to lead and move initiatives forward.
  • Excellent ability to develop and maintain cross functional internal and external relationships
  • Strong communication skills - written and verbal (one-on-one and in groups)
  • Effective negotiation skills
  • Self-motivated team player - able to be pro-active and work with minimal supervision
  • System Knowledge: Proficient in Microsoft Office, advanced Excel skills; experience in SAP ECP/APO and SAP IBP is an asset
  • Bilingual (English/French) is an asset, however, may be required
