The Opportunity

 As a member of the Materials/Scheduling department, you will be responsible for managing meat formulations and scheduling of all production departments. You are passionate about safety and promote a culture where safety comes first.  You thrive in an environment that is fast paced and have a keen sense for continuous improvement.  Your approach is collaborative and offer a forum where everyone feels comfortable to bring forward new ideas.  

A snapshot of some of the exciting things you will lead and do: 

  • Daily & Three-week scheduling of plant production lines for RAW, RTE, Purelink, and Preblend processes.
  • Formulating of meats as well as well as inventory management of all unground and ground meat.      
  • Meet daily with Plant Supervisors and Formulation group on next day’s RAW and Ready-To-Eat (RTE) production plans
  • Attend daily production meetings to communicate shortages from previous day, availability of materials, and reasons for shortage
  • Vendor quality notifications- create, send and follow up with vendors 
  • Communicating with Customer Service Reps to insure delivery of supplies
  • Assist the Materials and Planning Manager on daily duties when required
  • Performs other related duties as necessary
  • Cross train within department

What you will bring:

  • Extensive Experience in Microsoft Excel
  • Scheduling/purchasing experience
  • Preference of SAP experience
  • High School Diploma
  • Preference of post-secondary education
  • Attention to detail and good organizational skills
  • Strong in mathematics and computers
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, verbal and written communication, presentation and analytical skills
  • Self-directed and professional, Well-developed English communication skills (verbal, written, reading)
  • Computer proficiency in email and spreadsheets, and able to learn a variety of other software
  • Strong employee relations and problem-solving skills
