FSQA Coordinator – St Mary's
The Opportunity:
The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the QA team in maintaining BRC certification, Food Safety and Quality programs and business unit SOPs as well as and maintaining and continuously improving the HACCP system (HACCP plans and pre-requisites).
 
 A snap shot of some of the exciting things you will lead and do:
  • Execution of LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) program – setting up swabs in LIMS system, tracking and entering of results including arranging various microbiological and chemical testing.
  • Conducting product shelf-life testing
  • Assist in developing and revising pre-operational inspection procedures and swab sites for new/modified equipment.
  • Engagement in the facility Sanitation Programs
  • The logging and tracking and trending of all results
    • Follow-up on all deviations and applicable re-tests
  • Assist in developing and revising applicable SOPs and forms to ensure regulatory compliance
  • Maintaining inventory and ordering of all supplies. 
  • Preparation and sampling of samples destined to outside labs
  • Ensure all applicable procedures and forms meet SFCR, FSEP or BRC requirements (examples include water program, EMP, E.coli testing, etc.)
  • Quality Assurance / HACCP Paperwork review and tracking
  • Provide support to entire QA team with respect to maintaining an up to date HACCP system (HACCP Plan and Pre-requisite program) and meeting BRC requirements.
    • Duties may include but not limited to –  procedure development, onsite reviews, paperwork reviews, explain program to external auditors
  • Work in coordination with Regulatory Affairs to assist with product launches for labeling and packaging
  • QA contact for St. Marys product SOPs.
  • Execute Hold and Release Program in SAP
  • Assist with Animal Welfare compliance including audits, RVA monitoring and technical committee meetings.  QA contact for support with kill programs.
  • Oversight of PAA, housekeeping and Water Quality Monitoring Programs.
  • Work with the Pest control supplier to maintain the program and manage results and corrective actions
  • Participates in Food Safety and BRC meetings, BRC and FSEP audits
  • Assists with internal audits to comply with pre-requisites bullets, HACCP plans, BRC and customer requirements.
  • Various other duties assigned

 What you will bring: 
  • Bachelor of Science or Diploma in Food Safety/Science program or equivalent experience
  • Understanding of Sanitation, HACCP, CCP’s and GMP’s
  • Strong communication skills
  • 1-2 years experience in the Food industry preferred
  • Previous experience in a technical role
  • Experience with Six Sigma process improvement methodology an asset
  • Intermediate to exceptional MS Office skills
