Director, PMO-Greenleaf
 
The Opportunity:
 
Based out of Elmhurst, IL, the Director, PMO role will report to the Chief Operating Officer of the company and is a key member of the leadership team for Greenleaf. He/she will lead Program Management for Greenleaf and will be accountable for managing multiple cross-functional programs that are required to execute on Greenleaf’s Growth Strategy.  The primary focus areas will be execution of the capital projects, technological innovation, joint development partnerships, product renovation and business development projects.   The seasoned candidate must bring a holistic and business approach to the function. That means you’ll touch all areas of the business, use your unique position to design, implement and enhance the way we do things and provide insights to the business that influence growth. Team work and collaboration are key attributes as this is a very fast-moving business that must stay tightly coordinated.
 
A snapshot of some of the exciting things you will do:

Manage multiple cross-functional projects that are critical for the organization’s growth; step beyond traditional project mgmt. to provide advisory & insights to improve execution
  • Build and manage effective working relationships with senior executives across the organization and the parent company to influence process, decisions and outcomes
  • Provide periodic reports and/or in-person updates to the leadership team of Greenleaf and to the Maple Leaf corporate teams on the progress of projects
  • Budget Development, management and tracking
  • Execute change management activities
  • Work with project leads to identify and resolve issues and remove roadblocks
  • Facilitate the solution for recovery strategies when project schedules or budgets are in jeopardy
  • Coach other team members to effectively structure and manage work packages under their responsibility
  • Support the development of project communications to both internal and external stakeholders

What you will bring:
  • A minimum of 10+ years of work experience, with several years leading enterprise projects and programs
  • Proven success in gaining credibility and building trust with senior executive and stakeholder management in matrix, cross-functional settings
  • A proven problem solver with ability to manage in ambiguous and complex environment with the ability to make pragmatic recommendations that make great business sense and execute well
  • Strong listening and communication skills coupled with the ability to translate concepts and issues across functions
  • A self-starter who balances confidence with humility with proven skills to influence without authority; collaborative with associates at all levels of the organization
  • Confident and comfortable to lead high-profile directives but equally adept and humble to become a team member as required
  • Strong facilitation skills coupled with an exhibited ability of gaining consensus and aligning multiple stakeholders to embrace strategies.
  • Ability to manage large volume of work through effective prioritization and excellent execution
  • Strong financial acumen (i.e. cost benefit/ROI) and solid business sense – in tune with the business, shows an interest in the other departments of the business and how they contribute to the overall success of the company
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment - laser focused on ensuring that processes are clearly defined, working well and constantly being improved
  • Experience leading change and managing in a complex environment
  • Experience with deploying and utilizing best in class project management processes
  • Proficient in the use of MS excel & PowerPoint, as well as project management tools and technology
  • Prior food/CPG industry experience preferred
Education:
  • Must have a bachelor’s degree; advanced degree or MBA preferred
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification desired
