You must be legally eligible to work and currently residing in Canada. The Opportunity The Full-Time Maintenance Lead Hand provides maintenance support in the Hatchery operations and acts as the Lead Hand amongst the Hatchery maintenance team. Responsibilities
Daily, Weekly, Monthly, and Annual Preventive Maintenance
Perform general maintenance functions
Perform daily monitoring of incubation equipment
Troubleshooting incubation equipment issues across all shifts
Complete logs of all work performed
Completing documentation for hatchery receiving
Meet HACCP, Health and Safety, Animal Welfare and other legislated requirements
On-Call coverage required on rotation with other Maintenance Technician
Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
Proven Maintenance experience a must
Gas tech, Electrician and/or HVAC License a definite asset
Must understand and follow all HACCP/Biosecurity/Animal Welfare procedures
Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices
Previous experience with reading schematics or reading a multi-meter an asset
Knowledge of Hatchery process an asset
Basic computer skills
Must be capable of standing & walking for long periods
Must be physically able to lift 50 lb. repetitively move incubator racks up to 1200 lb.
Must be able to work in a warm/humid environment
Must be capable of obtaining pallet truck and fork truck operation certificates
Must be able to work independently and within small groups with minimal supervision
Must be able to follow SOP’s & schedules
2-5 years relative experience in a similar role
