Shift Details: 
The work schedule is variable based on chick sales with Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday being our peek production days. Additional hours can be daily, or weekly with some Wednesdays and Saturdays scheduled.  Daily start times can range from 5:00 AM to 10:00 AM, and shifts can last up to 14 hours.

Position Summary
This position  plays a critical role in ensuring the safe, timely, and efficient transportation of eggs and chicks between the hatchery and various farm locations. This position combines the responsibilities of both Chick Delivery and Egg Pick Up, requiring a strong commitment to animal welfare, biosecurity, and operational excellence
 

Key Responsibilities
  • Chick Delivery Drivers ensure the timely and safe delivery of newly hatched birds to client farms while providing exceptional service. Egg Truck Drivers are responsible for picking up eggs from growers and transporting it back to the hatcheries.

  • Safely load, unload, and handle chicks and eggs throughout transport and delivery, ensuring compliance with animal welfare and biosecurity protocols.

  • Verify delivery quantities for accuracy at each location and ensure all required supplies and instructions are checked before delivery.

  • Transport birds to designated farm locations using company vehicles, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries.

  • Load birds onto dollies and secure for transport, stack and space chick boxes, dump chicks under feed or water lines, and organize empty boxes for return.

  • Sanitize trucks and equipment according to established protocols to maintain biosecurity standards.

  • Complete pre-trip inspections, circle checks, logbooks, and other regulatory documentation.

  • Complete post-delivery tasks, including removing anything left in the back of the truck, garbage from the truck cab, refueling, and unloading empty chick boxes and dollies at the hatchery.

  • Communicate effectively with growers, internal teams, and external stakeholders to coordinate deliveries and maintain positive interactions with customers and follow all delivery instructions.

  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), health and safety guidelines, and animal welfare protocols.

Qualifications
  • Valid DZ license with a clean and experienced driving record.
  • Ability to work flexible hours until tasks are completed
  • Physically capable of performing the job. Must be comfortable working in conditions that may involve strong odors, noise, wet surfaces and humidity.
