 SFA, Information Solutions (IS) – 12 month contract
 
The Opportunity:
The scope of the Senior Financial Analyst, IS role involves financial reporting, analysis and forecasting of SG&A expenses and capital expenditures for the Information Solutions (IS) team. This includes ensuring strong process control and adherence to MLF policy.  This role also supports the VP, Corporate PMO in the annual budget process.
 
 A snap shot of some of the exciting things you will lead and do:
  • Key point of contact for IS team for financial related matters
  • Monthly preparation of journal entries and accruals
  • Monthly completion of balance sheet account reconciliation(s)   
  • Analyze period-end results and variances for IS team and submit to Finance SG&A (ie. Flash Report)
  • Monthly forecasting for full year SG&A spend and submit to IS team and Finance SG&A
  • Monthly roll-up of Capital spend forecast and submit to IS team and Finance Capital (quarterly)
  • Preparation of monthly results deck and present to IS Leadership Team (ie. E-meeting Report)
  • Detailed review of CER’s to ensure adherence to MLF’s Capital policy and validation of all key financial inputs and metrics (eg. RONA/ NPV) including in/out vs. budget
  • Completion of annual budget deliverables including calculating Depreciation and Prepaids; loading budgets into BPC and assisting with other budget tasks as required (eg. budget presentation deck)
  • Assist with yr-end financial and tax audit; address auditor queries 
  • Perform ad hoc financial accounting analysis and financial reports as required
  • Other duties and special projects, as required

 What you will bring:
  • Hold an Accounting Designation
  • A minimum of 3 - 5 years of relevant experience
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, changing environment
  • Detailed oriented person
  • Possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and be a dedicated team player
  • Experience with SAP and/or BPC is an asset
