 As a member of the Supply Planning team, the Supply Planner is responsible for the development of manufacturing and inventory deployment plans to meet corporate service level targets while minimizing excess inventory and distress sales through effective inventory management.
-Plans inventory to determine appropriate levels, taking corrective action when inventory position is long or short.
-Creation of weekly/daily production schedules for use by Operations.
-Responsible for analysis of seasonal inventory builds by examining manufacturing capacity and understanding customer needs.  Includes translation of yearly sales volume budget into manufacturing production volume budget.
-Responsible for analysis on SKU rationalization by examining portfolios to make recommendations for the removal of items based on profitability, OCD sales and fill rate to the customer.
-Assists sales, marketing, and supply chain managers to mitigate risks around undesired long/short inventory positions by looking at the disposal of long inventory into the most appropriate channels and providing information on length of inventory shortages and root causes.
-Assists with new product launches to ensure product is viable from an inventory management perspective.
-Responsible for portfolio service levels by analyzing root causes of shortages for future prevention.
-Coordinates replenishment of finished goods inventory across both corporate and 3rd party distribution centres.
-May include; creation and maintenance of Purchase Orders for co-manufacturers.
-Other duties as assigned (e.g. Sales and Operations Planning, supply chain improvements, six sigma project involvement, etc).

-Development of feasible and cost-effective production, procurement and inventory plans
-Achievement of targeted customer service, inventory obsolescence, and inventory investment objectives
-3+ years related experience
-Post-secondary education in a related discipline
-Strong interpersonal skills
-Excellent analytical & problem-solving skills
-Strong computer skills (ie. MS Office suite, MRP/ERP)
-Strong oral & written communication skills
