The individual is to support the plant food safety program by running of the sanitation department and ensure that the master sanitation schedule and day to day sanitation activities are in compliance with AIB, HAACP, customer and regulatory standards.
-Monitor and implement the Master Sanitation schedule. This includes monitoring and following up on sanitation activities on down days.
-Schedule and audit the sanitation workers.
-Order sanitation supplies and maintains the sanitation materials and labour budgets.
-Be contributing member of the HACCP team.
-Write new sanitation work instructions and develop a sanitation-training manual.
-Train sanitation workers on new sanitation procedures and monitor progress.
-Order and evaluate sanitation chemicals.
-Develop and maintain sanitation WHIMIS work place labeling system for all sanitation chemicals
-Degree/Diploma in Food Science or related discipline
-Degree/Diploma in Food Science or related discipline environment.
-Post secondary education and knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices and sanitation requirements.
-Minimum three years progressive experience in food industry, including supervisory level
-The ideal candidate should have experience working in a sanitation or quality food manufacturing Minimum three years progressive experience in food industry, including supervisory level
-The candidate should also have supervisory experience working in a unionized environment.
-The candidate will require good computer skills and be familiar with MS word and Excel.
-The successful candidate must be flexible and willing to be “hands on” to perform and other tasks as required.
