The Finance Manager is responsible for forecasting, reporting and analysis of direct product cost and overhead spend variances for the prepared meats operations.  This position works closely with Operations senior leadership team and interacts with all areas of finance such as Plant finance, FP&A, Commercial finance, General Accounting and Supply Chain Finance. Success in this position will be achieved by consistently demonstrating strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, organizational skills, attention to detail and the leadership edge values.  This position reports directly to the Finance Director – Prepared Meats Operations & SGA.
-Period and full year forecasting and explanation of cost drivers for Direct Product Cost and Overhead spend variances
-Budget process: Lead Cost of Product budget, including cost of product cause of change.  Supporting Manufacturing overhead spend and production volume budget process.
-Month Ends: Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations and MCR schedules.  Provide analysis and reporting of results.
-Quarter Ends: Complete Year over Year EBIT analysis and address queries from External auditors, as required
-Active participation in special projects as assigned


-A minimum of 3 - 5 years of relevant experience
-Post-secondary degree or diploma in accounting or finance discipline
-A professional accounting designation and/or sound knowledge of accounting principles
-Exposure to an SAP environment would be an asset
-Proven ability to analyze issues, think strategically and develop resourceful solutions
-Well organized, with strong prioritization skills allowing the management of multiple competing tasks
-Strong and effective communication skills and the ability to interact well with all levels of the organization
-Demonstrated ability to continuously improve processes and deliver on planned objectives
-Advanced Microsoft Office (excel) skills and strong system skills preferably in SAP
