The Maintenance Supervisor is required to oversee the preventative maintenance and repair of plant equipment to ensure uninterrupted day to day operations. Also, the individual must demonstrate the leadership to provide a safe operating environment by directing installation, maintenance and repair of machines, tools, equipment and utility systems. This is a night shift from Sunday to Thursday, 9:30pm - 6am. 


• Supervises the work of millwrights, electricians and other ticketed trades with a view to ensuring the good working order of production/warehouse equipment;
• Makes periodic inspections of equipment and systems to observe operating condition and need for repair or adjustment;
• Assisting in planning and scheduling routine and preventive maintenance of equipment;
• Supervises repairs/projects carried out by Contractors and ensures the quality of their work , their adherence to deadlines and safety policies through rigorous follow-ups;
• Plans and controls expenditures in accordance with the operating budget of the department;
• Ensures that the plant is maximizing its production efficiency;
• Ensure Maintenance Department is in compliance with various government regulations including Environmental, HACCP, CFIA, and Health and Safety and maintain all relevant documentation
• Maintain a safe working environment and enforce company Health and Safety policies to work towards achieving an accident free facility. Pursue safety improvement opportunities. Ensure that good housekeeping practices are followed. Conduct monthly safety talks with employees
• Prepare machinery efficiency reports, incident reports, downtime explanations, work orders
• Develop, maintain and nurture a positive work environment through use of excellent interpersonal skills, team building and fostering of open, 2-way communication with all departments.
• Weekly updates in Kronos and approving time
• Other duties as assigned



• College diploma in electro-mechanics or a Bachelor’s degree in engineering; a licensed millwright / electrician with previous supervisory experience
• 3-5 years’ experience in a similar position, preferably in a unionized environment
• Experience improving and maintaining Preventative Maintenance Systems
• Working knowledge of computer software and computerized maintenance systems
• Excellent planning, analytical and organizational skills
• Strong interpersonal, communication, leadership skills and the ability to work in a team
• Experience in a Food Processing or Manufacturing environment would be considered an asset
• Experience with Process Improvement Methodologies (Six Sigma, TPM, etc.)
• Must be available to work flexible shifts including nights and on weekends as necessary
