Quality Assurance Technician will assist in the application of all company Food Safety and Quality Assurance programs so that program controls and measurements are performed throughout all processes thus ensuring that wholesome, quality products are manufactured and all company and customer specifications and all regulatory requirements are met.  Quality Assurance Technician will be a key member of the Quality Assurance department.
  •   Conduct daily pre-op inspections on all production equipment on all processing lines.
  •   Conduct all environmental swabbing and product testing programs including lab preparations and collection of samples.
  •  Conduct daily calibration of all thermometers
  •  Conduct daily food defense and GMP audits and CCP/CP checks.
  •  Enter all environmental data in data base weekly
  • Graph and trend all Food Safety and Quality Assurance  data weekly and monthly
  •  Assist in third party audit preparations and actively participate in CFIA and company audit and inspection programs
  • Investigate all consumer complaints and report back to Consumer Affairs with all findings and corrective actions.
  • Verify and maintain all plant SOP’s.
  •  Conduct food safety training and daily admin. work when required
  •   Post secondary diploma in a food science or related field
  •   Minimum 1-2 years in the food industry would be an asset
  •   Strong interpersonal, leadership, verbal and written communication, presentation and analytical skills
  •   Self-directed and professional
  •   Computer proficiency in MS Office
  • Work requires ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs and working in cold conditions when required
