POSITION SUMMARY:

The Sales Operations Analyst will support many aspects of the Sales Strategy, Planning and Operations team including Business Performance reporting, SG&A reporting and administration, Rewards & Incentive reporting and well as Sales Planning through the S&OP process.  Standard reports and analytics will be a routine component to the role as well as regular involvement in ad hoc queries and project work.
 
The Sales Operations Analyst will need to be a highly motivated individual that provides top quality, value-added analysis, and takes a business partner approach to the Customer Business Teams (CBT’s) and Category Sales Development team (CSD). Collaborating with the Demand and Supply Planning teams at the discretion of the Manager, Sales Operations will also be an import facet of the role.  The Sales Operations Analyst is an individual with exceptional analytical and interpersonal skills coupled with strong commercial acumen, with an ability to synthesize information into clear actionable insights.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supports the Manager, Sales Operations in all aspects of reporting, planning, and analytics in the following areas:
    • Business Performance - Sales reporting
    • Supply Chain Performance – Service levels and shorts reporting
    • S&OP - Demand planning and supply constraint resolution
    • Distressed Sales (‘Visibility Sales’ program)
    • Sales General & Administrative expenses
    • Ad-hoc initiatives and strategic project work
    • Build and maintain collaborative cross functional relationships
      • Sales, CSD, Supply, Demand, Finance, etc.
  • Prepares and publishes the following reports
    • Daily Sales Report – Top line volume vs vitals forecast
    • Weekly General Managers’ report, Commercial Variance report, and ‘Quarterly Outlook report – Volume, gross profit, Margin and Commercial Equation vs FC, Budget and YAGO
    • Weekly Service Level & Short Report
  • Tracks quarterly YTD Sales performance by individual for various compensation purposes
  • Administers internal reporting and financial planning & analysis of Selling, General & Admin. costs for the entire Retail Sales function, including yearly Budget and the monthly Forecast
  • Uses SAP BI, Excel and Consensus to provide clear helpful answers to ad hoc questions and reporting requests from Senior Management, Sales colleagues, or Finance teams
  • Other Sales or Sales operations-related initiatives and projects that may be deemed necessary, either time-sensitive or long-term.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:
  • Post-secondary degree in Accounting or Business required
  • Background in Finance, Sales Demand Planning or Supply Chain
  • 3-5 years of value-add analytical experience
  • Must strongly demonstrate our Maple Leaf Leadership values
  • Ability to communicate clear direction and synthesize information into clear actions
  • Ability to build relationships and cater message to various levels in the organization (Master Data, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain)
  • Ability to use SAP Business Intelligence “BA” (system knowledge, report building)
  • Analytical mind (multiple sources of data to find insights for Senior Management)
  • Overall Business Acumen and the ability prioritize
  • Strategic thinking (the ability to understand strategic priorities)
  • Demonstrated personal leadership skills
  • Excellent presentation skills with above average influencing and negotiating skills
  • Strong analytical skills and detail orientation with a drive to learn new systems

  • Excellent planning and organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects

  • Excellent English written and oral communication skills.
  • Advanced Office literacy in Excel (Pivot Tables, SumIfs, VLookUps, etc.), PowerPoint, Word
