As a member of the Inventory Management team, the Planner, Inventory Deployment is responsible for the development of inventory deployment plans to meet corporate service level targets while minimizing excess inventory and distress sales through effective inventory management.


  • Plans inventory to determine appropriate levels, taking corrective action when inventory position is long or short.
  • Creation of weekly/daily deployment plans.
  • Performs root cause analysis and identifies solution to proactively manage excess inventory to eliminate reoccurrences.
  • Responsible for analysis on SKU rationalization by examining portfolios to make recommendations for item delists.
  • Assists with new product launches to ensure product is viable from an inventory management perspective.
  • Identifies and executes efficient and cost effective inventory deployment practices in alignment with established KPI’s.
  • Identifies and executes alternate ship strategies.
  • Responsible for customer service levels by analyzing root causes of shortages for future prevention.
  • Coordinates the efficient replenishment of finished goods inventory from MLF plants through corporate and 3rd party distribution centres.
  • Other duties as assigned (Sales and Operations Planning, supply chain improvements, six sigma project involvement, etc)


  •  Strong understanding of the overall supply chain process and its interrelationships with other functional areas
  •  2-4 years experience within Supply Chain organization
  •  University degree and/or professional designation in a related field
  •  Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  •  Ability to work in fast paced environment across multiple teams
  •  Strong change management skills
  •  Excellent analytical & problem solving skills
  •  Strong computer skills (MS Office suite, MRP/ERP)
  •  SAP APO/ECC experience
  •  Superior oral & written communication skills
  •  Ambassador for Maple Leaf Values
