The Finance Analyst is a key member of the St. Marys– Poultry Finance team.  With a strong professional and technical background, the FA provides analytical and financial expertise through monthly reporting and variance analysis, optimization of plant systems, and compliance to financial policies and procedures.  The FA will play a key role in the  weekly forecast process and perform ongoing analysis of results versus budget.  This role interacts frequently with employees at various levels of the plant as well as head office.


  • • Completion of daily and weekly yield and labour reports.
    • Investigate daily variances, analyze production trends and provide explanations to management
    • Support completion of the weekly vitals report
    • Calculating the cost of quality and processing notification requests.
    • Provide information to support cost estimates and new sku setups 
    • Ensure adherence to tight month-end schedule, prepare month-end journal entries and account reconciliations
    • Analyze OH spending and work with budget owner on a monthly basis
    • Provide support to the annual budget process; including overhead budgets, and standard changes
    • Assist in month end inventory counts and reconciliations
    • C3 compliance and testing of controls
    • Respond to ad hoc report requests 
    • Other responsibilities as required
  • Finance post-secondary education from a recognized business program is strongly preferred  
  • Enrollment in professional accounting designation program (CGA, CA, CMA) preferred
  • 2-5 years of progressive manufacturing costing experience in SAP
  • Strong attention to detail problem solving and continuous improvement skills
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills plus the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to present financial information to non-financial functions
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office 
  • Ability to identify areas for improvement and provide/recommend solutions
  • Superior attention to detail
  • Self-motivated
