POSITION SUMMARY:
The Shipping/Receiving Supervisor is a key role in the Heritage Plant. The Supervisor will be responsible for the execution of all shipping, receiving and warehouse activities at the Heritage Facility. This role will have overall supervisory responsibility for all shipping, receiving and warehousing related activities in RTE and RAW areas of the plant. Logistics team members report into this role. The Team Leader reports into the Manager, Logistics and Inventory.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
·       Responsible for supervising all inbound and outbound activity for outbound finished and raw goods
·       Supervise outbound and inbound material movement to meet supply chain requirements including inventory accuracy, minimizing write-offs, and new product introductions
·       Supervise dry good and finished good warehouse operators
·       Supervise warehouse activities, communicates and documents transactions, including vendor damage claims
·       Manages the warehouse to meet housekeeping standards, including assigned ingredient allocation, inventory control and management.
·       Responsible for insuring all shipments meet quality requirements including completion of all related paperwork 
·       Provides innovative solutions and continuous improvement initiatives to upgrade the department
·       Maintain managed warehouse bin management, ingredient allocation, inventory control and allergen management
·       Communicates effectively with transport dispatch, other plants and third party providers
·       Act as a single point of contact for employee issues and concerns and providing follow up in a timely manner
·       Conduct grievance, incident investigations, counseling and discipline meetings
·       Properly administering the collective agreement
·       Accurate payroll processing
·       Conduct communication, safety and food safety meetings
·       Coach for Logistics team members on delivering results, development and individual performance issues
·       Audit processes: People system, FSQA, Reliability predictive practices
·       Conduct daily team meetings to review key metrics, safety, people and employee services information
·       Develop team members through certification training and coaching, providing clear roles and consistent support and feedback for all employees
·       Maintain and foster positive union and employee relations environment by treating all employees with respect, providing timely feedback and grievance resolution
·       Ensure the compliance of all plant relevant policies, procedures and standardized work methods
·       Maintain a safe working environment and ensure continued compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, JHSC recommendations or MOL work orders. Company safety rules and Good Manufacturing Practices
·       Perform accident investigation and take an active role in WSIB case management and ensuring early and safe return of injured workers to modified and/or productive duties
·       Efficient warehouse flow of all materials
·       Timely completion of all related duties
·       Timely execution of all warehouse duties
·       Shall demonstrate full commitment to the implementation of the requirements of the Global Standard for Food Safety and to processes which facilitate continual improvement of food safety and quality management
 
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:
  • Post-secondary education
  • 2 to 5 years’ experience in shipping, receiving and inventory control in a fast paced manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience in a unionized environment
  • Experience using SAP is an asset
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with the ability to influence and impact others at various levels within the organization to achieve results
  • Strong prioritizing abilities
  • Advanced in Microsoft office and applications
  • Strong analytical skills and detail oriented.
  • Leadership of 8 to 12 employees
