POSITION SUMMARY:


Specialist in Manufacturing Execution Systems, with relevant knowledge and expertise implementing software applications within shopfloor environments, with activities that include solution design, data integration architecture, technical configuration, delivery and operational system process support.
 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Delivery of system solutions related to manufacturing shopfloor applications and process automation, including full system lifecycle of business process requirements gathering, solution design and build, end-to-end system integration with user acceptance testing, and go-live.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, configuration documentation, standard operating procedures, and other documentation as required during and after executing on implementation tasks.
  • Participate in regular facility / site visits focusing on in-depth understanding of business process requirements, challenges and issues and providing post implementation support.
  • Prepare material and provide training to production floor personnel.
  • Provision for after-hours emergency support in the event of a critical system failure.
 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
  • Certifications in manufacturing technology preferred.
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of industry experience implementing Manufacturing Execution Systems (examples: Wonderware, Siemens, GE, Rockwell/ Factory Talk).
  • Certification or proven industry experience in Wonderware tools such as Archestra, MES & OPC would be a major benefit.
  • Knowledge of SAP Manufacturing solutions will be a plus.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL tools is a major plus.
  • Strong knowledge in the design, configuration, and testing of applications.
  • Strong understanding of integration procedures of systems and production equipment.
  • Working experience in trouble shooting production support issues.
  • Good communication skills and outstanding end-user interaction.
  • Proven ability to work in collaborative team environment or, if needed, independently.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiar with using and setting up computer equipment commonly used in production areas (example: HMI stations, barcode printers, scanners, scales)
