Incumbent will be a member of the Asset Reliability Group, a corporate team that supports all of the company's manufacturing facilities. The incumbent will have the mandate of working with the maintenance leadership and corporate teams to establish and implement standardized processes and to transition the maintenance program towards world class. Success will be measured in the direct and indirect contributions the group has made in a zero based budget environment.


  • Support the development and deployment of the Maple Leaf maintenance strategy including, but not limited to, leveraging SAP-PM deployment for: 
    • Asset management (Master Equipment Lists, Criticality analysis, functional location hierarchies, equipment sub-assemblies);
    • Work management (Notification and work order workflow, job plan rationalization, condition and predictive maintenance, SAP-PM workflow);
    • Performance management (KPI development and tracking);
    • Reliability engineering (RCM, breakdown management;
    • MRO spare parts management (BOM development);
    • Training (Development and delivery of SAP training material);
  • Support other MLF business units with the execution of special projects that require expertise in the area of asset and maintenance management; and
  • Other duties as required.


  • Engineering degree or 3-year technologist diploma program from a recognized post-secondary institution;
  • MMP or CRP designation an asset;
  • 3-5 years of asset and maintenance management experience or a background in manufacturing/process engineering (food environment preferred);
  • Organized and capable of working independently while managing multiple priorities;
  • Strong to advanced software skills;
  • Developed communication & interpersonal skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to write and present technical reports in English. 
  • Fundamental understanding of asset and maintenance management, RCA and RCM methodologies an asset; and
  • Hands-on experience with SAP-PM or other computerized maintenance management system.


As part of a larger Asset Reliability Group, the frequent interactions between the Asset Reliability Specialist and maintenance stakeholders at the plants will have a significant impact on their day-to-day activities. Plants, and MLF as a whole will benefit from the changes introduced by the Asset Reliability Group in the form of reduced maintenance and MRO spare part costs, and the potential for higher production volumes as a result of higher equipment availability. ​

  • Environment – Office primarily, but at plants and on the production floor as necessary.
  • Volume & Complexity of Work - Moderate complexity, fast-paced, multiple deadlines.
  • Travel Requirements - 20% travel.
