POSITION SUMMARY:


The Sales Execution Manager is a vital part of the Costco Customer Business Team.  The SEM helps identify new item opportunities at Costco and then helps bring those ideas to market.  The SEM helps manage all Costco innovation projects to ensure they run flawlessly.  On these projects, the SEM works closely with many cross functional teams such as Sales, Marketing, Product Development, Finance, Packaging Technology, Supply Chain and Manufacturing.  While working with these teams the SEM acts as the customer expert and provides Costco’s perspective to ensure we meet their expectations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify new items to sell to Costco based on consumer, market and customer insight
  • Work with cross functional teams to determine feasibility of new item opportunities
  • Help build item presentations that include pricing, retail slopes, product specifications, samples, consumer and market trends
  • Once Costco accepts a new proposed item the SEM will work closely with cross functional teams to bring the item to market
  • As the customer expert, the SEM is responsible for monitoring competitive changes and market trends at Costco and the rest of retail to help identify new item opportunities
  • The SEM supports the CBT in achieving volume and GP targets by bringing innovation to market, winning business from competitors and enhancing current products at Costco 
  • The SEM also assists CBDM’s with daily activities as required such as trade tracking, internal paper work, analytics, etc.
 
 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong CPG background with experience launching innovation in the market
  • Able to work collaboratively and effectively with a wide range of cross functional teams 
  • An entrepreneurial approach to building the MLF product portfolio at Costco
  • Understanding of P&L statements and the factors that influence profitability in a business
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve and find creative solutions
  • Strong Project Management skills with the ability to multi task in a fast pace environment
  • Excellent organization, planning skills with strong attention to detail
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Interest and willingness to learn and teach others
  • University degree or college diploma preferably in a business or marketing concentration
