Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable and motivated individual to join our hatchery team, supporting semi-automatic separator operations. In this role, the successful candidate will work collaboratively as part of a two-person team. This role plays a key role in ensuring a steady and consistent flow of chicks into the chick room, supporting daily production goals and maintaining high standards of animal care and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Remove stacks of chicks from hatchers and move to separator area
  • Load trays onto in-feed conveyor of separator
  • Monitor equipment operation for optimum performance
  • Monitor flow of chicks into chick room/assist Chick Room Supervisor to optimize efficiencies
  • Assist with chick weights
  • SAP data entry
  • Operate tray washer (start-up, operation, shutdown), including cleaning hatch tray rollers, re-cleaning soiled trays, and assisting with tray handling during operator downtime.
  • Inspect, stack, and disinfect washed trays on clean rollers, ensuring all trays are free of debris and ready for reuse.
  • Remove trays from tray washer, inspect, and stack on clean rollers
  • Setter sanitation support on Wednesday’s
  • Other duties as assigned


What’s in it for you?
  • $21.56- $22.56 per hour (based on progression)

Qualifications
  • Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices
  • Must understand and follow all Animal Welfare/PCP/Biosecurity procedures
  • Proven ability in current position (attendance included)
  • Must be committed to working as a team or individually
  • Must be able to work in small groups with minimal supervision
  • Proven organizational and time management skills
  • Problem solving abilities
  • Must be capable of standing for long periods
  • Must be able to lift 40 – 50 lbs. repetitively overhead
  • Must be able to work in a wet/humid environment
  • Able to work in a fast paced and repetitive task environment
  • Able to work varying & flexible hours until job complete
  • Must be available to work Statutory Holidays
