Inventory and Logistics Supervisor

 The Opportunity:

The Inventory and Logistics Supervisor  plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and smooth operation of the supply chain process. The primary responsibilities involve production planning, material procurement, and overseeing the shipping and receiving functions. By optimizing inventory management, maintaining vendor relationships, coordinating transportation, and minimizing costs, this role contributes to the overall success and profitability of our organization.

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:

  • Collaborate with production, purchasing, and other relevant departments to develop realistic and achievable production plans.
  • Create and maintain an efficient production schedule that meets customer demand and considers capacity, material availability, and lead times.
  • Create and distribute weekly process orders for production.
  • Monitor production schedules and adjust as necessary to address changes in demand or supply constraints.
  • Report out weekly to the corporate Supply Chain team on plant conformance and inbound/outbound shipment issues.
  • Communicate with other departments to understand their purchasing needs and requirements, ensuring alignment with budgetary constraints and quality standards.
  • Actively collaborate with the Finance Team to ensure purchase orders are issued according to policy.
  • Perform regular cycle counts to ensure accurate inventory records and identify any discrepancies.
  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure purchase orders are fulfilled in a timely manner.
  • Monitor and analyze costs to ensure the best price for materials is being obtained.
  • Follow purchase orders through the entire process, including working with vendors on supply chain issues and with accounting on invoice issues.
  • Assist with new product launches to ensure product is viable from an inventory management perspective.
  • Utilize SAP system to research order history, track inventory movement, and analyze data for inventory optimization.
  • Investigate and resolve any issues related to inventory discrepancies, including root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
  • Develop warehouse operations systems by determining product handling and storage requirements.
  • Develop and implement processes for receiving product, inventory management, and shipping.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the warehouse, including loading/unloading of trucks, packing/shipping of orders, and other warehouse duties.
  • Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties
  • Complete performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports.
  • Ensure employee safety and compliance to the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
  • Ensure Quality Compliance with all HACCP procedures.

What You’ll Bring:

  • B.S. in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management, or equivalent preferred.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal, leadership, presentation, and analytical skills.
  • Self-motivator with an ability to act decisively based upon the facts available.
  • Should have well-developed written and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and organized; able to prioritize multiple requests.
  • Analytical & problem-solving skills.
  • Results-oriented and possess a successful track record in an ever changing, fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database systems; experience with SAP preferred.
