The Opportunity:
Partnering with Maple Leaf Food's Maintenance Team, the individual will be responsible for maintaining and servicing equipment used in the facility for the daily production of our products. In doing so, they will support safe plant operations, uphold a safe working environment for all team members, and ensure equipment and processes align with our commitment to animal welfare standards.
Our Service Technician Level 2 rate is $28.65/hour, day and evening shifts available.

What You’ll Bring:

Must have strong mechanical skills and abilities
-
A mechanical, electronics or robotic technology diploma from a recognized University or College OR equivalent experience in relevant industry is considered an asset

Must be able to read, write and understand English

Must demonstrate attention to detail

Must successfully pass internal and external mechanical aptitude testing

Must be willing to train to operate a forklift and powerjack

Must be physically capable of frequent lifting - up to 25 kilograms, and physically capable of frequent bending, reaching and stretching

Must be a self starter and be able to work with minimal supervision and demonstrate strong time management stills

Must work well within a team environment

Must be able and willing to travel within Canada for training
A Snapshot of Some of the Exciting Things You Will Lead and Do:
- Set up, operate, and perform changeovers on automatic and semi-automatic equipment in the packaging area, as well as other relevant production areas
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and address equipment issues, engaging Maintenance as required
- Perform routine repairs, adjustments, autonomous maintenance, and yield testing to ensure optimal equipment performance
- Operate forklifts and power jacks as needed
- Utilize various Hand Tools
- Perform preventative maintenance and complete work orders, accurately tracking labour, parts, and inventory within the plant’s computerized maintenance system (SAP)
- Respond to oral, written, and electronic work requests in a timely and efficient manner
- Communicate daily repair activities and equipment status with Maintenance, Production, and cross-functional teams
- Maintain accurate records, including notes, labour hours, and parts usage in SAP
- Adhere to all Health & Safety, Food Safety, HACCP, WHMIS, MSDS, BRC, and Company policies and procedures
- Complete other related duties as assigned
