The Opportunity:
As part of the corporate Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA) team, the Corporate Auditor, Sanitation and Food Safety Compliance is responsible for delivery of the corporate Sanitation Audit across Maple Leaf Foods manufacturing sites and Hatcheries Working independently and within audit teams as required, this senior level role will lead and execute Sanitation Audits, provide coaching and support to plant teams with understanding the Sanitation program and FSQA program compliance expectations. The role drives continuous improvement through dissemination of sanitation best practices and identification of common program challenges across the network.
The Corporate Auditor, Sanitation and Food Safety Compliance will report to the Director FSQA - Internal Audit. The Director is accountable for the successful implementation of the Sanitation Audit.

Compensation: $94,000 - $141,000 CAD base pay annually plus annual short-term incentive
Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:
Lead and execute the Corporate Sanitation Internal Audits. This includes:
- Communicate audit expectations and audit results to plant senior leadership teams.
- Schedule Sanitation Internal audit program in alignment with business demands.
- Execute effective Sanitation Audits in accordance with the MLF Sanitation Audit Standard.
- Engage with plan teams and provide coaching and feedback on best practices and expectations, during and after audits.
- Support plants in responding appropriately to ensure non-conformance corrective actions are effective.
- Prepare detailed reports on the audit outcomes.
- Effectively communicate and report audit findings to accountable business leads.
- Contribute to the continued development of the sanitation program by engaging the corporate program team in identifying common gaps across the network and work together to identify solutions.
What You’ll Bring:
The position requires a business professional with the following:
Qualifications:
- knowledge of sanitation management and Food Safety and Quality best practices. Auditing experience is an advantage.
- High degree of functional competency and technical understanding in sanitation practices and sanitation chemistry.
- Working knowledge of the functionality of sanitation cleaning/sanitizing systems and other sanitation tools used for daily execution from tank to wand. This includes the basic principles of CIP (Clean in Place) and COP (Clean out of Place).
- Minimum 5 years full time experience in a food plant environment . Experience in RTE sanitation leadership is preferred.
- Relevant education in a food related or bio-science higher education course or equivalent
- Competence in the understanding and application of HACCP principles.
- Ability to travel as per the business requirements

The above compensation reflects the target compensation for the position at the time of posting. The base salary offered may vary based on a variety of factors including skills, experience, education, training, job- related knowledge, and other organizational requirements. For part-time roles, salaries are adjusted according to scheduled hours. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible to participate in Maple Leaf’s annual short-term incentive plan.
