The Opportunity:
The HR Business Partner (HRBP) plays an integral role in supporting both our corporate and operations teams to achieve their business objectives through proactive engagement and execution of people priorities. This role is based at our head office but requires travel to our plant locations as needed to provide on-site support and partnership.
The HRBP role calls for well-rounded HR experience and the ability to build strong, impactful relationships across diverse teams. This opportunity will appeal to candidates who are solution-focused, thrive in fast-paced environments, and are passionate about employee engagement. The role will support a dedicated client group while collaborating closely with the broader HRBP Operations team.

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:
- Provide HR support in talent and performance management, employee relations, recruitment, compensation, leadership development, and other key HR processes
- Partner with corporate and operations leaders to address talent needs and people priorities
- Coach and guide leaders on employee relations, performance, MLF Values, and Leadership Capabilities
- Support the employee survey process and action planning to drive engagement
- Identify learning and development opportunities aligned with business needs and leadership competencies
- Participate in change management initiatives that enable organizational success
- Use HR systems (SAP) and analytics to provide insights and solutions
- Collaborate with HR COEs to deliver comprehensive support to the business
- Contribute to HR projects that improve processes, service, and efficiency
What You’ll Bring:
- 3+ years as an HR professional with direct business partner experience
- Post-secondary education, with an ongoing commitment to continuous learning
- Skilled in facilitating performance and talent management initiatives
- Strong communication skills with the ability to coach and influence at all levels
- Relationship builder with proven credibility and engagement skills
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Solution-focused approach with sound problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Proactive, collaborative, and resilient in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Strong alignment with Maple Leaf Foods’ Leadership Values & Capabilities
- Proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Experience with SAP is an asset
