The Opportunity:
Reporting to the People Leader, Human Resources, this position leads activities that support the Plant in all areas of Hourly recruitment including: career and job fairs, screening, interviewing, pre-employment checks, job offers, orientation and managing of attendance based on policies and guidelines. This individual will also have responsibility for the delivery of the plant’s hourly relocation support program and may include travel.

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:
- Lead all aspects of recruiting for hourly employees both within and outside of the city of Brandon, MB
- Execute the recruitment action plan and recommend enhancements to ensure the labour needs of the plant are met
- Research, coordinate and administer targeted job ad placement to increase candidate pool
- Organize, participate and deliver job and career fairs for hourly recruitment
- Develop, track, report and maintain detailed accurate records relating to hourly recruitment for internal and external reporting
- Manage and administer the hourly relocation program with a customer focused orientation
- Develop and maintain accurate records and reporting for financial compliance on the hourly relocation program
- Build and maintain good working relationships with external parties and targeted communities to support hourly recruitment
- Lead the recruitment and onboarding process of salaried employees
- Liaison with Maple Leaf Foods Talent Acquisition Centre
- Other duties as assigned
What You’ll Bring:
- Post-Secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources or Business-related field or currently working towards
- 3-5 years of Recruitment and/or HR-related experience, preferable in a unionized manufacturing environment
- A combination of education and experience will be considered
- Good working knowledge of skilled and semi-skilled recruitment and HR program delivery
- CHRP designation or working towards designation is an asset
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, and be a self-starter
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to perform work with accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to take initiative, problem solve and multi-task
- Second language proficiency in Mandarin, Spanish, Hindi or Ukrainian is an asset
- Positive and professional approach with willingness to learn and enjoys challenging oneself
