The Opportunity:
As the Finance Lead – Pork Complex at Maple Leaf Foods (MLF), you will play a pivotal role in shaping financial insights and driving performance across one of our most dynamic business units. Acting as a strategic partner to the Pork Leadership Team (PLT), you will provide end-to-end financial leadership, support enterprise-wide decision-making, and influence long-term planning for the Pork Complex.

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:
Strategic Financial Leadership
- Lead complex, company-wide financial analysis to provide timely, data-driven insights to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
- Manage the financial expression of the Pork Complex’s 5-year strategic plan, annual budget, and rolling forecasts.
- Prepare materials and insights for quarterly Board of Directors (BoD) updates and key budget/plan approvals.
Operational Finance & Reporting
- Oversee the month-end close process and financial reporting for the Pork Complex.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Hog Production and Fresh Pork to consolidate operating results and translate findings into actionable financial narratives.
- Lead the financial management and reporting of the Pork Complex’s IBM (Industry Benchmark) process.
Systems, Tools & Continuous Improvement
- Champion continuous improvement by streamlining financial processes, enhancing reporting, and driving automation.
- Leverage tools such as Power BI, PowerApps, and Power Automate to improve efficiency, data transparency, and self-service reporting capabilities.
- Support internal and external audits by ensuring data integrity and process compliance.
Ad Hoc & Performance Analysis
- Conduct deep-dive analysis to uncover margin improvement opportunities and support fact-based decision-making.
- Deliver insights that enhance business performance, profitability, and shareholder value.
- Lead special projects and ad hoc analytics to support evolving business priorities.

Required skills, knowledge, and attributes:
- Post-secondary education in a finance or business related program
- Completion of professional accounting designation program
- 10+ years of progressive finance experience with focus on FP&A and data transformation.
- Hands-on experience with analytical tools such as PowerBI and Power Automate.
- Strong business acumen, critical thinking, and analytical skills with the ability to identify issues, extract meaningful insights, and help drive fact-based business decisions
- Proven ability to develop relationships and influence at all levels, including executive stakeholders
- Track record of leading high-performing teams through inclusive leadership and effective prioritization
- Strong communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Desirable skills, knowledge, and attributes:
- Experience in the CPG industry or non-CPG manufacturing environment
- Contextual knowledge of SAP ERP, SAP BPC, BlackLine
- Experience with full life cycle of Finance systems implementation, including project and change management
