The Opportunity:
Reporting to the VP Controller, the Manager, Finance Transaction Processing is responsible for managing the Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Payroll teams in providing effective and efficient service to our customers, vendors and all employees of Canada Packers. The Manager, Finance Transaction Processing will implement company policies and procedures, and support processes to develop and execute short and long-term strategic plans that will enable the teams to deliver strong performance aligned with company values. You will provide necessary leadership, coaching, and guidance to enable the team to develop and deliver their personal best while establishing department goals and objectives.
The Manager will be responsible for maintaining integrity of internal credit policies and C3 controls and delivering on working capital objectives. The incumbent will be responsible for initiating and supporting projects that will deliver efficiencies and embrace automation in all areas, including RPA and AI as appropriate.

Accounts Receivable
- Lead AR team including training, coaching, career development and performance reviews
- Support collections/deductions process
- Issue status reports to management
- Manage and control all initiatives to improve credit granting processes, procedures, and policies
- Review and approve credit limit change request within assigned threshold
- Review and approve manual billing within assigned threshold
- Maintain strict adherence to policies, procedure, controls
- Liaise with internal and external auditors on controls testing and requirements
- Maintain internal and external service levels and improve customer relationships
Accounts Payable
- Lead AP team including training, coaching, career development and performance reviews
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with vendors and internal MLF partners
- Manage inbound billing and payment inquiries from internal and external customer and drive timely issue resolution
- Ensure timely review and resolution of SAP ‘parked' and ‘blocked’ items
- Monitor and manage the reporting of weekly/monthly GRIR, Blocked and Parked Invoices, and AP Aging
- Maintain strict adherence to policies, procedure, controls
- Liaise with internal and external auditors on controls testing and requirements
- Ensure internal controls are monitored and adequately captured
Payroll
- Lead Payroll team including training, coaching, career development and performance reviews
- Build and maintain effective relationships with HR and other internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective and efficient payroll processing
- Work with VP Controller to define standards and best practice processes
- Maintain Payroll User Manual current, ensuring ongoing changes are updated in both electronic and hardcopy formats
- Maintain knowledge of relevant Collective Agreements
What You’ll Bring:
Experience and Education
- Minimum 10 years leading services departments, preferably in a shared-services environment
- Experience leading and motivating direct reports
- AR experience including credit risk management knowledge
- AP experience
- Payroll experience
- Experience dealing with Domestic & International customers (preferred)
- Experience within insured receivables (preferred)
- Undergraduate degree in Business or Finance (preferred)
Skills and Knowledge:
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent planning and organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- SAP experience an asset
- Alignment with company values
- Excellent analysis skills and detail-oriented
