Finance Manager - Reporting

 The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Finance Leader the Finance Manager, Reporting provides leadership, support and analysis to the plant finance and Poultry business leadership team.  The role requires the incumbent to work closely with various functional groups and levels to identify opportunities to improve results within the plant.  This position is responsible to ensure accuracy of plant financial reporting and will be responsible for analyzing and reporting production results with a deeper dive into identifying trends and investigating variances. . We are looking for a versatile and self-motivated finance professional with strong technical skills and aptitude for modelling and analyzing data. This position will quarterback budget and be responsible for forecasting plant variances.  The position is located at London Poultry and will provide financial leadership and support to 1 Sr. Finance Analyst.

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:

  • Leading the budgeting process for London Poultry; coordinating the finance team, operations managers, Plant finance, and Costing peers to ensure timely and accurate completion of the annual budget
  • Ensure the accuracy, integrity and timeliness of all financial reporting and ensure management is aware of relevant trends and issues
  • Lead the preparation and review of month end statements, including the completion of expense reporting and analytics for our internal business partners
  • Interpret financial results – provide meaningful, concise insights related to the business
  • Lead forecast for Plant Variances - prepare monthly forecasting model, including developing forecasting models and analytics to provide accurate forward forecasting
  • Support quarterly internal compliance and controls testing to ensure accuracy of information in the general ledger
  • Support period end close with journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Coordinate and complete weekly site dashboard
  • Utility tracking utilizing Power BI
  • PPV analysis and reporting
  • Headcount analysis and labour reporting leveraging 3C Impact
  • Agristats reporting and benchmarking to identify cost saving opportunities
  • Providing support for ad hoc analytics and special projects to enable SLT decision-making
  • Developing, motivating, and managing 1 direct report
  • Providing financial analysis for business cases to support commercial initiatives and capital projects
  • Responsible to ensure accounting procedures adhere to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and approved corporate policies
  • Be an integral part of lean six sigma projects

What You’ll Bring:

  • 3-5 years Manager Finance background in a manufacturing environment.
  • Completed bachelor’s degree – ideally with specialization in business finance or accounting. 
  • Technology savvy individual with excellent aptitude for working in information systems modeling and analyzing data
  • Demonstrated experience in cost accounting, budgeting, and internal controls
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to build relationships with business partners and team
  • Superb sense of urgency, attention to detail, organizational & problem-solving skills
  • A proactive self-starter with the confidence and curiosity to take initiative, ask questions and improve processes
  • Prior experience in food manufacturing and SAP are preferred
