A snapshot of some of the exciting things you will lead and do:

  • Ensuring the efficient operation of plant equipment.
  • Supporting and driving the implementation of any improvement initiatives.
  • Managing the maintenance budget by controlling cost, planning repairs and curing best pricing.
  • Managing a team of five (5) trade people and a plant currently running 2-production shifts/day, 5 days/week.
  • Develop his team by providing sound and consistent leadership, support and training.
  • Participate and support the implementation of new equipment.
  • Develop, implement and maintain a preventive maintenance program on production equipment and buildings ensuring that any planned preventive repairs are scheduled in accordance with production schedule.
  • Actively supporting the Maple Leaf, Quality, Food Safety and Health and Safety programs.
  • Overseeing and directing plant projects including those involving outside contractors.
  • Being flexible, capable and willing to perform any maintenance task as the circumstances may require.
  • Ensuring that the plant is in compliance with Federal, Provincial and Municipal legislation.
  • Developing and maintaining positive cross-functional relationships.
  • Representing the Maintenance Department at meetings as required.

What you will bring:

  • Minimum of a college degree in either mechanical, electrical, Power Engineer, electro-mechanics.
  • Red Seal will be an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Very good interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  • Working knowledge of MS-Office and AutoCAD.
  • 5 years experience as a member of maintenance team.
  • Previous experience working in the food industry would be highly advantageous.
  • Flexibility to work over time as and when required.
  • 3 years as a Maintenance Supervisor within Unionized environment
  • Excellent troubleshooter.
  • Understanding of HACCP and CFIA requirements.
