The Industrial Engineering team at Maple Leaf Foods supports all of the company's manufacturing facilities across North America. The team is focused on working with the operations leadership and corporate teams to set performance targets and labour standards, and to identify opportunities to maximize efficiencies across the manufacturing network. We are seeking for an individual to join the team as an IE specialist, and the successful candidate will be responsible for tracking and reviewing medium to long-term production capacities against production demand, as well as working on exciting opportunities to lead and support the development of multi-year strategic initiatives within the Maple Leaf Foods network. You will be partnered with a variety of stakeholders across an expansive cross-functional team (including marketing, R&D, operations, finance, etc…) to develop comprehensive and sustainable plans to meet the company’s objectives. Success will be measured in the direct & indirect contributions the team has made in a challenging zero-based budget environment.
A snap shot of some of the exciting things you will lead and do:
Labour Standard Setting – Measure, build, track, and revise standards to measure labour, packaging, and raw material utilization through the entire value stream
Master Capacity Planning – Providing medium- / long-term periodic assessments of production capacities vs. production demand
Product Development Process – Provide manufacturing insight on product development / innovation opportunities for all business units
Process Optimization – Line balancing, labour optimization, line debottlenecking, and waste elimination
Strategic Initiatives – provide objective and analytical guidance to support the organization’s sustainable growth
Other duties as required.

What you will bring:
Industrial Engineering (or Equivalent) Degree at a recognized post-secondary institution
Professional Engineering Designation or eligibility
3-5 years of manufacturing experience (food environment preferred)
Practical experience with Industrial Engineering tools such as Methods Analysis, Time Study, Line Balancing
Knowledge of Sales & Operational Planning, capacity modelling, Economical Order Quantity strategies
Fundamental understanding of manufacturing production systems (food production preferred)
Organized and capable of working independently while managing multiple priorities
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Technical curiosity and Questioning attitude
Developed communication & interpersonal skills
