BENEFITS COORDINATOR - WINNIPEG
Reporting to the Health and Safety Manager, the Benefits Coordinator effectively manages claims through the integrated process of accident prevention and assessment, incident investigation and reporting, management and monitoring of accepted claims and claims costs, and planned return to work programs.
A SNAP SHOT OF SOME OF THE EXCITING THINGS YOU WILL DO:
• Workers Compensation Board (WCB) and Short Term Disability (STD) claims management
• Maintain documentation (paper and electronic) in compliance with relevant legislation and policy
• Manage Alternate Work Program
• Maintain direct communication with WCB and Short Term Disability providers, and the medical community
• Facilitate educational sessions to plant employees
• Prepare statistical analyses of injuries and injury trends
• Demonstrate personal leadership, initiative, attention to detail, and ability to constructively influence others
• Available to work flexible hours and work well in a team environment

What you will bring:
• Work experience in the administration of injury claims management
• Certificate or Diploma in Claims Management or related field
• Medical background or knowledge of medical terminology and basic human anatomy preferred
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work with union and management employees in a collaborative, solution-focused environment
• Well-developed written and verbal communications skills
• Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, SAP)
