 Product Manager, Pork Business Optimization
The Opportunity:
The Product Manager’s role is to help maximize total returns to the fresh pork business by managing category sales (in excess of $100m) in order to meet or exceed budget targets. 
 A snap shot of some of the exciting things you will lead and do:
  • Establish category strategies and develop and execute appropriate plans to maximize return
  • Meet category financial metrics (GP, inventory levels)
  • Set future pricing
  • Forecast commodity markets
  • Maintain product specifications
  • Provide input to production planning
  • Manage production and sale of frozen inventory
  • Provide monthly financial forecasts
  • Manage a portfolio of domestic and US customers
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities that will improve returns
  • Continually expand North American market knowledge and industry trends

 What you will bring:
  • Post-secondary education, preferably with a business focus
  • 3-5 years’ experience working in a commercial business environment
  • Meat industry experience not mandatory but strongly recommended
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills
  • Highly numerate and analytical
  • Strong commercial sense and competitive by nature
  • Ability to self-manage and problem solve
  • Effective organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to be flexible and responsive to time sensitive, changing business needs
